ABOUT US

THE NAGALAND ADVENTURE AND MOTOR SPORTS ASSOCIATION (NAMSA) is the exclusive state Adventure Motor Sporting Authority of Nagaland. The Association is affiliated to the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI – member of IOA India; FIM Geneva and FIA Paris), a National Sports Federation for motor sports recognized by the Government of India. 
NAMSA has taken up the responsibility to promote adventure and motor sports in Nagaland and in this endeavor the Association is determined to stand by the standard code of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India.           
The Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association through concerted effort aim to put Nagaland on the motor sporting map of the country.

 

FORMATION: Through the initiative of a few adventure & Motor sport enthusiasts, Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) was formed in February 2001. The main objective of NAMSA is to promote adventure and Motor Sports in Nagaland and any event conducted under its banner adheres to the strict guidelines of the parent body so as not to compromise on technical or organizational standard.

WHAT WE DO: The main objective of NAMSA is to promote adventure and Motor Sports in Nagaland. NAMSA is duty bound to see that any event conducted under its banner should adhere to the strict guidelines of the parent body so as not to compromise on technical or organisational standard.

The Nagaland Adventure and Motor sports Association also aims to promote Nagaland through concerted effort to put Nagaland on the motor sporting map of the country. As the sole, legitimate and full-fledged motor sporting authority in Nagaland. NAMSA has decided to shoulder the responsibility to promote Nagaland through Adventure & Motor Sports. A small state with enormous and naturally latent settings for any sporting enterprises. Sinuous roads amidst rolling hills, lush and verdant landscapes, meandering rivers alongside quaint villages affording amble potentials for water sporting as fresh water angling, river rafting, kayaking etc. the state is a veritable bonanza for adventure sports.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

NAMSA is also proud to mention that several of its members have participated in various MAI recognized events all over the country. Some of them have even gone on to win several Championship trophies as well.

2010 – The Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association on invitation attended the recently conducted Mizoram Motorsports Association (MiMSA) SPEED RUN (Drag Race) on 30 April & 1May, 2010 at Tuirial Airfield, Aizawl as observers. This was the first Drag Race event in the Northeast for Two Wheelers.

RAID DE HIMALAYA

Raid De Himalaya is a motorsport started in 1999. It is the world’s highest rally raid. The 2009 event ran in six legs from Shimla to Srinagar, between 5 October and 13 October. Internationally reputed to be the “highest motorsport event in the world”, the Raid de Himalaya was created by Himalayan Motorsport Association (HMA) and has been organized and conducted by the club for the past 15 years consecutively.

The Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) had sent teams to participate in this extreme rally and has won on two (2) occasions in the 4x4 category in 2001 and 2002.

EVENTS:

In 2002 – NAMSA officially organized the first ever 4-Wheeler Motor Rally in Nagaland named ” The Naga Mountain Challenge” under the aegis of the Government of Nagaland. The event was a grand success which had attracted National Motor rallyists.
