The Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association (NAMSA)
is the exclusive state Adventure Motor Sporting Authority of Nagaland. The
Association is affiliated to the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India
(FMSCI - member of IOA India; FIM Geneva and FIA Paris), a National Sports
Federation for motor sports recognized by the Government of India.
Formation: Through the initiative of a few adventure & Motor sport enthusiasts, Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) was formed in February 2001. The main objective of NAMSA is to promote adventure and Motor Sports in Nagaland and any event conducted under its banner adheres to the strict guidelines of the parent body so as not to compromise on technical or organizational standard.

NAMSA trivia : The Nagaland Adventure and Motor sports Association also aims to promote Nagaland through concerted effort to put Nagaland on the motor sporting map of the country. As the sole, legitimate and full fledged motor sporting authority in Nagaland. NAMSA has decided to shoulder the responsibility to promote Nagaland through Adventure & Motor Sports. A small state with enormous and naturally latent settings for any sporting enterprises. Sinuous roads amidst rolling hills, lush and verdant landscapes, meandering rivers alongside quaint villages affording amble potentials for water sporting as fresh water angling, river rafting, kayaking etc. the state is a veritable bonanza for adventure sports.
In 2002 - NAMSA officially organized the first ever 4-Wheeler Motor Rally in Nagaland named " The Naga Mountain Challenge" under the aegis of the Government of Nagaland. The event was a grand success which had attracted National Motor rallyist.
In 2003 - NAMSA also conducted the first ever Autocross in Nagaland. Despite lack of publicity, funds, sponsors, and other teething problems, the event was well received and ended on a positive note.
In 2007 - NAMSA organised its first Hornbill Motor Rally in the year 2007. The Rally was supported and sponsored by the Government of Nagaland and JK Tyre.
In 2008 - The Hornbill Motor Rally 2008 was organized by Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association (NAMSA), which was supported & sponsored by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland and JK Tyre. It was held on the 4th & 5th of December.
Achievements :- NAMSA is also proud to mentioned that several of its members have participated in various MAI recognized events all over the country. Some of them have even gone on to win several Championship trophies as well.
In 2010 - The Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association on invitation attended the recently conducted Mizoram Motorsports Association (MiMSA) SPEED RUN (Drag Race) on 30 April & 1May, 2010 at Tuirial Airfield, Aizawl as observers. This was the first Drag Race event in the Northeast for Two Wheelers.
The representatives of NAMSA were led by Vikeshe Shohe, (President) and two other members. NAMSA acknowledges with appreciation the undertaking of the Mizoram Motorsports Association (MiMSA) for promoting motorsports in their state. It is hoped that in future all the motorsports fraternity in the Northeast region will have more interactions and involvement thus promoting closer ties between all the motorsport associations so as to build a strong foundation for its growth and advancement.
